Our mission is focused on the City Centre of Derby and the multi-cultural area immediately around the Church building. We are truly a “city church”, working and living within an urban context.
Ozzy Road works in close partnership with local Christian mission organisations. In partnership with Derby City Mission and YWAM we offer a safe and comfortable place each week to receive practical advice about debt, benefits and homelessness. Supporting Youth With a Mission (YWAM) in outreach to the YMCA has inspired some of our young people take hot chocolate and cakes into the YMCA each week and spend time with the residents. We also have a number of Street Pastors in our church family who volunteer their Friday and Saturday nights to help those in need on a night out. The Derby Soup Run uses our premises every night to provide a free soup to those who are in need every day of the year.
We support local agencies from Schools by taking assemblies, ICT clubs and RE lessons, to Phoenix Futures who host coffee mornings for people in recovery from drug addiction.
We work with other local churches in the city through City Vision, Normanton ministers and the City Centre churches fellowship.
City Vision came into being during the move of the Holy Spirt in the mid 90's when a group of leaders building on the foundations of unity that had been laid over many years in the city began to strengthen their relationships in prayer and evangelism. Ozzy Road was part of this move and over the last decade there has been much blessing brought to the Church and the city through this expression of unity. The vision is "To see one Church proclaiming and demonstrating the kingdom of God throughout Derby".
